Depending on the look that is trying to be achieved by the person that is applying the Eyeshadow, there are many techniques that are used while applying the makeup and coloring to the eye. Eyeshadow is popular as it can be used to create a variety of looks.

Eyeshadow is a way to make a dramatic statement, even a way to complete a look and create a focal point within the facial makeup. Practicing with eye makeup application is a great way to learn which colors suit your eye color and skin tone.

The first thing to remember when applying Eyeshadow is that the darker colors should be lower on the eyelid. These colors can be complimented through the use of eyeliner and be smudged into the crease of the eye for a smoky look, but darker colors should be complimented with lighter colors within the same family of color tones above the crease of the eyelid.

Are there certain Eyeshadow colors that are additionally compatible with certain eye colors? As a general rule of applying eye makeup, one should stay away from applying shadow that matches the color of eye. Rather, colors should be chosen that will compliment the colors of the eye. For example, popular Eyeshadow colors that will compliment brown eyes are color of pink and green which will bring out other colors that are present in the eye.
